Say It Ain't So...

The cold reality of it being a mere 6 months until Christmas has slapped me silly this morning. With Summer just officially arriving on Sunday, this news is a bitter pill to swallow. What have I done to deserve this?



It’s not that I have anything against Christmas, it’s just that I have a bone or two to pick with the nasty, uninvited cold weather that hitches a ride with it. Anyone that lives in a warmer climate cannot possibly relate to this feeling of desperation. The saddest part of this revelation being – cold weather actually arrives at least two months prior to Christmas (aka 4 months from now). Gahhh!


What does that mean you ask? It means I have a lot of warmth and sunshine to absorb and pack into these remaining 4 months. Using my vacation days are not a feasible option, as these must be reserved for my winter escapes to warmer climates. Hmmm...perhaps a few more sick days are in order. I hear the West Nile virus might be going around. *cough, cough*

Cris - I love Christmas, just not winter here in Canada. Actually I might like winter a little, but only until January 2nd and then it can leave me alone.

lol. it's not even July yet and Christmas already. guess we will be seeing the ornaments at the card shops soon enough. why did you do this to me? smiles. enjoy the warmth while we have it....soak, soak, soak...

Oh dear....why d'ya havta mention winter???? LOL. Soak up that sun! Be outside as much as you can!!!! Sweater weather is right around the corner. Actually I was thinking of winter tires and block heaters today as I sweltered in 33 weather, d'uh??? :-)))
I won't miss those aggravating deer flies, I'll tell you that much!

As a self proclaimed ultimate optimist I take the 'silver lining' view of most things. Cold climate being one of them. I accept the pain of winter because I look better in cozy sweaters than string bikini's.

It's all in the viewpoint, all in the view....

The Holidays are behind us for another year, the parties are over and the decorations have been put away. Now what? Apart from some indoor exercise, maybe the odd movie, some reading, an afternoon nap on the weekend and perhaps some weight loss, there is nothing to look forward to in the short term. Q&A With Myself...

Today is an anniversary of sorts… Today marks my 2 nd anniversary at my current place of employment.   Over the last 2 years, I’ve had some  a lot of spare time to reflect upon the career path that I’ve chosen and what wrong turns have lead me to the cube where I sit today. I’m not happy with some of the choices I’ve made, but I’m not going to dwell on those – life’s too short .   Each wrong turn has led me to something different, some new experience.   I’ve met some great people, others that aren’t so great and those who should be forgotten, but sadly are etched upon my soul.  I’ve learned some things along the way and have laughed at myself and others while doing whatever it is that I do.   I question whether I should have become a sell out and an ass kisser, but realize that I just don’t have what it takes.  I like being able to hold my head high and know that I’ve gotten to where I am in life by being honest – with myself and others.
