Getting to Know Me...

The lovely Renée tagged me to do this meme! Here goes! My apologies for the formatting - damn Blogger..

The Rules
  1. Respond and rework: Answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your invention, add one more question of your own.
  2. Tag 8 other people.
The Questions

What is the thing that makes you happy? Vacations, travel, adventure, being busy.

Coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, but I’m trying to kick the habit. I also enjoy spearmint tea in the afternoon.

What’s for dinner? Last night, I had beef tortellini with alfredo sauce, red peppers and fresh tomatoes.

What was the last thing you bought? A pair of pants from the GAP for my son.

What are you listening to right now? The hum of the air conditioning unit over my cubicle.

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? My red plaid sleep pants and my “live to dive” t-shirt.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Hmmm, I don’t really like ice cream, but someone forced me to eat it, it would be banana.

What do you think of the person(s) who tagged you? I love that Renee is venturing out on her own for the first time and is sharing her experiences with us.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Bonaire

Which language do you want to learn? Spanish or Italian

What is your favorite color? Blue

If you had £100 now, what would you spend it on? A new pair of sunglasses.

What book are you currently reading? At work (in my spare time) – Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris. At home - Sphinx by Robin Cook.

Describe your personal style? My preferred personal style would be casual chic, but when I’m at work it’s business casual.

What are you going to do after this? I should start working – I have contracts to review, reports to write and deadlines to meet. Mostly likely, I’ll check my e-mails first.

What are your favorite movies? The Bucket List, Finding Nemo, Dodge Ball

What inspires you? I’m inspired by people who volunteer. I wish I had time to offer as a volunteer – perhaps once I win the lottery.

What is your favorite fruit? Raspberries

Do you collect something? I collect beach glass when I travel. I have jars and jars full of the stuff. One day, I hope to make jewelry from it.

If you could change your name to anything, what would you call yourself? Bob

How many times do you press the snooze button before you get up? I don’t know how to work my alarm clock, but I would say my husband hits the snooze button once.

What is your favorite smell? Lilacs.

What is your biggest regret? I don’t have any regrets – life’s too short to worry about the past.

What are you most proud of? My life, my son and husband.

Cats or dogs? Dogs, although I do own a cat and he’s self-sufficient, so that’s a plus.

What is your guilty TV pleasure? Big Brother – that show is like a train wreck, you just can’t look away.

Who are you most like in your family? My dad.

What did you want to be when you grew up? At this point, I'm still trying to figure that out, but when I was younger, I wanted to be a marine biologist.

How do you see yourself in ten years? Living on a Caribbean island, running my own business. I don’t know what that business might be yet, but I have a few years to figure it out.

What was the best unconventional gift you have received? My mother-in-law bought me a lunch pail that looks like a Louis Vitton handbag.

What is on the walls of the room you are currently in? I’m sitting in my cubicle, so the walls are pretty sparse since I don’t like the idea of getting too comfortable at work, so I have a coat hook, a corporate organization chart, a 2010 calendar and a calendar of my husband’s photos.

How would you spend a rainy day on the weekend? First, I would sleep in and then I would enjoy a morning coffee, followed by a big breakfast and then I would go back to bed and stay there as long as possible.

Nice post but thank God you didn't tag! :D My brain power is working at minimal levels...
Brian - I've always thought Bob would suit me and people can actually pronounce it, unlike Sharman (sounds like the toilet paper - Charmin).

SA - I was actually thankful to be tagged today since my brain isn't working either in order to come up with something creative. I always feel funny about tagging others, especially if I've tagged them recently, but nonetheless I do it and carry on. Looking forward to hearing about your BBQ.
