I Want Wednesday - What I'll Settle For This Christmas...

As I reflect back through my "I Want Wednesday Posts of 2009", I realized that I've obviously been aiming too high. I've wanted much, but haven't received a damn thing on my lists.

So in order to not be disappointed at Christmas, I'm revising the lists - from "I Want" to "I'll Settle For". The way I figure it, Santa can't possibly argue with my reasoning (compromise)...

@Gavin - I agree. I won't compromise my morals on this one.

@JW - Unless Santa wins the lottery, I suspect the ring won't be under the tree this year, but a girl can still hope.

@Christiejolu - Rest assured, I'm not settling for anything less than that ring. It might have to wait a year or two or ten, but I will have it.

@Brian - I suspect the Timex will be in my future because they sell it at Wal-Mart. LOL!

Last Christmas I bought MYSELF the boots. Not D&G, but pretty nice ones on sale! They make me feel like a million bucks! Sometimes you have to be your own Santa.

The Holidays are behind us for another year, the parties are over and the decorations have been put away. Now what? Apart from some indoor exercise, maybe the odd movie, some reading, an afternoon nap on the weekend and perhaps some weight loss, there is nothing to look forward to in the short term. The Holidays are a bit of a let-down in that respect. So much hype and then when the excitement suddenly stops, I’m left feeling lost – like I’ve forgotten to do something. I usually like to complain about the winter weather in January, but I can’t even do that because it hasn’t been that bad… yet. It’s been cold, but we have certainly been lacking in the snow department. I know winter will arrive and then I’ll have LOTS to keep my “bitter meter” ticking, but until then, what’s a girl to do?

Q&A With Myself...

Today is an anniversary of sorts… Today marks my 2 nd anniversary at my current place of employment.   Over the last 2 years, I’ve had some  a lot of spare time to reflect upon the career path that I’ve chosen and what wrong turns have lead me to the cube where I sit today. I’m not happy with some of the choices I’ve made, but I’m not going to dwell on those – life’s too short .   Each wrong turn has led me to something different, some new experience.   I’ve met some great people, others that aren’t so great and those who should be forgotten, but sadly are etched upon my soul.  I’ve learned some things along the way and have laughed at myself and others while doing whatever it is that I do.   I question whether I should have become a sell out and an ass kisser, but realize that I just don’t have what it takes.  I like being able to hold my head high and know that I’ve gotten to where I am in life by being honest – with myself and others.
