Snowmageddon....

It’s Day 2 of Snowmageddon.

No, I’m not being dramatic – it’s a FACT.  Mother Nature is blessing us with a Winter Wonderland, but I’m still left wondering what’s so fantastic about snow, cold weather, whiteouts and ridiculous drivers.

By the end of day yesterday, we had received a whopping 80 cm or approximately 31 inches of snow.

Today, we are expecting another 50 cm or an additional 19 inches of snow.  The end of the world is coming.

Yesterday, I donned my toque (remember last year's lesson on Canadian clothing), mittens and boots and ventured forth to work.  Only to be told, we were closing early.

Today, I ventured forth again.  Upon arriving to work, I find there were less people there today than there were yesterday and most of the ones that didn’t show up actually live within the city.  Once again, we were told we were closing early.

My boss was surprised to see that I made it.  I bluntly told him I was saving my snow days for a time I could actually enjoy them…in July.   He laughed.  He obviously doesn’t get my sense of humor.  We’ll see who gets the last laugh in July (when I call in sick).  Ha!

On our bad snow days last week I rang one of the managers before setting off to make sure I wasn't turning off to a closed office.

We still have -15c temperatures at night - but this weekend should see a positive heatwave and major thaw as temperatures rise to 3c.

I went up to Uni this morning to teach, expecting to find the campus like downtown: empty of snow. My mistake! The rain that melted the snow here oon Sunday left even MORE snow up on Cmapus. It's scary what 100m of altitude will do!

Snow days? We don't get those here! If there's a problem with the buses: walk or hitch-hike! :p

Our snow is melting. More is expected this weekend. Not a lot though. Stay warm and dry.

Hmm, another 2 feet of snow and we might not see you in the parking lot!
I awoke to 35 degrees here in south Florida. That is a 50 degree drop since last week!!
I wonder if I can have a snow day off?

I love snow, but that's a little too much, even for me. Good luck shoveling yourself out!

snow finally disappeared here... although not in some other parts of the country.

although it's easier to get around campus, it's ugly... and it's still bloody FREEZING!!! (well, below freezing actually! lol!)
