Doom and Gloom. Anxiety Setting In Yet?

With so much doom, gloom and tragedy in the world at the moment, how do you manage to keep a positive outlook on the future?

A.      Do you hide under a rock?
B.      Do you put on those rose colored glass and pretend the world is not falling apart around you?
C.      Do you turn off all forms of communication to avoid being inundated with media reports?
D.      Do you figure “What the hell?  It can’t get any worse?”

Right now, I’m leaning towards item A.   It’s kind of like a game of rock, paper scissors.  If I’m already hiding under the rock, how much damage could it possibly do?

To be honest, I feel sort of numb. I feel everything and nothing all at the same time.

I've been hiding under my rock for a few days now. It's nice. It has internet.

I found this quote, it might help.

We're all susceptible to it, the dread and anxiety of not knowing what's coming. It's pointless in the end, because all the worrying and the making of plans for things that could or could not happen, it only makes things worse. So walk your dog or take a nap. Just whatever you do, stop worrying. Because the only cure for paranoia is to be here, just as you are."

I sent a donation then chose A. I went there with a pair of scissors, as well as a pen and some paper, just in case.

I don't know how you feel about this but it makes me think of God and where this world is going and makes me wonder more about my relationship with God. Not suggesting anyone else should feel the way I do but that is where my mind goes. Hoping it gets better!

I'm with Rebecca and Brian... NUMB.
It's so hard to take it all in. Each new piece of news coming in from Japan or Libya or Bahrein or... it's like "one more? seriously?"

I think I'm going to hide under a rock for a while. Can someone bring me a mojito?
