Tired...Maybe Cranky Too...

Does anyone else get tired of giving?  Giving their time, their knowledge, their support, and even to a certain extent, their friendship or their love?

Normally I don’t mind giving, but lately - I’m tired of it.  I’m tired of being the problem solver, the peacekeeper, the caregiver.   I’m tired of being pulled in a million directions and in general, I’m just tired.

I just want to be left the hell alone, so that I can recharge myself.  I don’t mean to sound selfish or bitter, but I don’t really care.  I’m also tired of being politically correct.

Now, that the bitterness is out of the way – I’m excited about an award I received last week from R. Jacob Post.  Stay tuned for details….they will be forthcoming.

You deserve any award you get! You are pretty awesome!

I have never found myself in the middle of things the way you seem to. I try to be nice and do things for people but I don't really get in the middle too much. You deserve some time for yourself I say!

Thanks for the comment on my blog....glad someone cares - haha! :)
@R. Jacob...be careful - don't want you tipping out of your chair...

@Sarah - Ahhh, shucks - thanks! I'd say you deserve an award too! Oh wait, you might just get one. *wink*

I think there comes a point when the giving becomes more of a chore and it loses it's luster. That is when you need to re-evaluate your giving and see if it is worth continuing, or if you need to change why you give to that.

Someone once said to me 'everyone comes to you with their problems.....who do you go to' - my reply, 'no-one'. At that point I realised I needed to say 'no, not my problem' more often!

It does get very tiring but if it's in your nature it's difficult to stop. You need a day aawy to be pampered and looked after with no-one to think of but yourself.
I know how you feel. I recently sloughed off someone who would just take, take, take. Enough was enough. So much better since then :)

You could join me in San Antonio at the best spa ever this year though :) It is devine...*aahhhh*... relaxed just thinking about it :D
Just realized I can't spell :(

Yeah, I'm sure we all have those moments after too much giving. To hell with being politically correct and such. Just take a good rest and don't think about other people. Be selfish for once! :)

Ugh! Been there, done that... still haven't gotten back to my previous level of personal generosity (of giving of myself, my time, my energy etc.)

I kind of burned out several years ago (my last year in Belgium, so 4 years now?) and was like "don't ask me to do a single thing for another human being! for right now it's all about ME!" Which is a complete 180º turn of how I usually behave... but I just couldn't deal with other people's demands on me anymore. There reaches a point when you have to learn how to say NO. And it ain't easy. :s

Hope you're feeling better! Remember to take time for yourself now and again!!! Come see me and I'll take you diving! ;o)

HUGS!!!
