I am so excited! Today is a big day for me - a first... While K13 is off enjoying the sun, surf, sand and everything else Myrtle Beach has to offer, I have been given the opportunity to guest blog on her behalf today. Please stop by her blog at Someday I'll Get There , where I share my story of why it's not always best to experience everything certain cultures have to offer. Please be sure to leave her feedback, as everyone loves feedback and besides, she will need something to read when she gets back to work.

Oh Dear...Sorry in Advance...

I apologize in advance for my lack of originality with this post. I stole it from a work-related e-mail (aka funny co-worker). I was in a pub yesterday when I suddenly realized that I desperately needed to fart. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat of the music. After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my pint and noticed that everyone was staring at me. Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.

I Want Wednesdays...

When I first started these Wednesday installments, they were called “Make a Wish Wednesdays”, but wishes are just a politically correct way of saying “I want”, so I’ve decided to be truthful to myself, cut through the niceness and say what I really mean – I want this stuff: Sirius Satellite Radio – I would love to have Sirius Satellite Radio installed in my car. Common FM Radio just doesn’t cut it any more and because my commute is so long, I tend to hear the same songs each way, every day and I’m afraid that if I hear Jordin Sparks or Kelly Clarkson again, I will intentionally run my car off the road, just for the distraction. Tailgator Gas-Powered Blender – How cool would this be? I would be the envy of all of my male friends with this little gadget. The product description from the website states: “Whip up drinks wherever you are with this portable gas-powered blender. The powerful 24cc two-stroke 2-1/4 hp engine generates enough torque to perfectly blend a pitcher of drinks (w...

Given last week’s rant about my current boss and the new job offer I expect to be receiving next week, I’ve decided to reflect upon some of the good, bad and ugly bosses and co-workers I’ve had over the last 10 years. A little over 3 years ago, I was working at a company that I loved, for a boss that I liked. I was convinced that I had finally broken the curse of bad career moves. For 10 months, I flourished within a male dominated workplace and managed to gain respect along the way. Little did I know, but my personal growth and self-esteem would soon take a hiatus and the 2 years to follow would be considered by me to be a plague of epic proportion. The plague I speak of would become to be known by all throughout the organization as “he’s such an idiot.” “He’s such an idiot” was brought into our company as a temporary solution. He was on temporary loan from a local law firm that was dying to keep our business. Unbeknownst to us, the law firm had set us ...

As today is a holiday in Canada, I've been busy doing summer holiday stuff, so I haven't had time to create a complete blog post. The weather this weekend has finally turned around and I've actually been able to spend some time with my good friend - the sun. I've missed it so, but when we spend time together, it's like we've never been apart. While I was busy enjoying the summer sun, my husband was busy photographing some of the flowers in our backyard. Here is one of them:

Random Thoughts...

My boss is an ass. Until today, I thought he respected my opinion and certainly valued my ability to make comprehensive, well-informed decisions in his absence. Apparently, that is not the case and I am viewed as a moron that can’t possibly correctly interpret a clause in a contract without the assistance of someone else. Long story short, he is on holidays and in his absence, I’m typically “in charge” of answering any legal questions that may arise. Anyhow, I was copied on an e-mail chain, which I obviously shouldn’t have received, in which my boss sent to another individual in the company, stating “you may need to provide her (me) with your interpretation skills” (because she is too stupid to read the clause herself). That little e-mail has certainly made my “Should I Stay or Should I Go” decision a lot easier. It’s a long weekend in Canada . Monday, August 3 rd is the actual h...
