Speed Bumps of the Future: Creepy Optical Illusion Children What the hell??

I ’ve told you about the many , many , many people that have come and gone in our HR Department.   Well, yesterday was no different – another one was terminated.  Since my starting with this company two and a half years ago, we have hired, fired or lost 6 individuals from HR.   Some went willingly – others not so much. The difference between this loss and the ones in the past – I liked this one.   She had a great sense of humor and a no nonsense attitude.   She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and was one of those individuals that would have your back should the need arise.   She went to bat for employee’s rights and benefits.   It was those same admirable qualities that got her terminated.    The bottom line – she ruffled too many feathers in a male dominated organization.    Today, what shred of respect I had left for the management team of this organization was lost.  It infuriates me and makes me sick.

Tuesdays after a long weekend just seem like Mondays to me.  Usually they feel worse than actual Mondays because I’ve managed to over-indulged on the goodness that is a long weekend.  The scale was not my friend this morning.  I don’t know why I even bother to punish myself and weigh in after a long weekend.  See the first point – too much goodness. I started Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred last week.  Day 1 kicked me in the ass – so much so, that I couldn’t move for the next 3 days and by the time, I recovered it was the weekend.  So since last week was a big FAIL, I’m starting over tonight and hope I can make it to Day 3 before I have to take a break.  It’s all about “goal setting”. The Boy starts his classes today, so it should be interesting to hear from him tonight.  All through his school years to date when asked what he learned, I received the response “nothing”, so I’m assuming of course, that tonight’s conversation won’t b...

I am once again baffled by the management of the company I work for. I’m even more baffled why those in certain management roles in the company continue to get promoted, are given bonuses, raises, etc.  Without going into great detail, I’ll try to summarize the latest round of moronic moves made by management, including my boss. We have a sales operations team in place; that are supposed to be responsible for reviewing and processing incoming purchase orders. Part of the review process is to confirm whether or not we have negotiated terms and conditions in place and if we do, the sales operations team is to confirm that this is referenced on the incoming purchase orders. If the negotiated terms are not referenced, our policy states that we are to reject the purchase order until it is corrected. Easy enough right?  Somewhere along the line, the sales operations team decided to ignore this company policy and have been accepting all purchase orders – regardless of ...

J and I have just finished dropping our Baby Boy off at college.   He was super excited and couldn't wait for us to leave.  I know he'll be fine.  He's like J and I -  adventurous and adaptable.   I'm super excited for him, but rest assured that I will shed a tear or two when no one is around to witness it.  So until then I need to hold it together.  Anyone got duct tape?

My Horoscope for Today... The Moon in your sign gives you an edge, even when dealing with a cold, difficult person. You could be uncomfortable with what is coming up at the workplace. You cannot count on someone like you have in the past.  My Response:   I deal with cold, difficult people everyday.  They can go @#$% themselves today, just like they did yesterday.  Boredom I've been bored out of my tree this week, so much so that I Googled "boredom".  Here are some of the things I've found: Gotta cat?  This one I have to try... I always suspected Barney was a perv... See - I told you I was bored.   Anyhow...On Sunday, we're off to drop The Boy off at college.
