Signs of Spring...

Image
As I’m sure everyone is well aware, it’s been a long winter - everywhere.  Longer than usual in my opinion.  Here in Ontario, Canada “winter” started a bit later than is typical.  Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t tropical beach weather by any means for the months of November or December, but the real “winter” with the snow, blowing snow, ice pellets, more blowing snow and polar vortexes didn’t arrive until sometime in January.  But since January, it’s been constant cold, little sun, snow and wind.  It’s been a never-ending story of misery - for me at least. Having said that, I see the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel”.  Slowly but surely, we’ve had a few warmer days, a little more sunshine and only trace amounts of snow.  I’m still wearing my winter coat, but I have now given up my winter boots for shoes.  Seems like a minor detail, but for me, it’s a BIG deal. There have been other signs of Spring in the air (m...

Back From The Beach...

Well folks, I've returned from holidays...my apologies... All that's left are the memories.  Here are a few photos, which I should point out were actually taken by me.  I bought my own camera, so as not to have to rely on J to share his.

The Pineapple Inn...

Having just returned from a wonderful week in Puerto Rico, I thought I should give kudos where kudos are due.   We stayed at a FANTASTIC place called The Pineapple Inn in Rincon, Puerto Rico.  The motto of The Pineapple Inn says it all… “Relax, Enjoy Life” … How did I find out about this place?  Well, I Googled small inns in Rincon and this one popped up.  I then checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and voila… The Pineapple Inn is an intimate inn, located in a quiet residential area of Rincon - just a few short steps away from a gorgeous beach, which is great for swimming, walking or simply watching the sunset.  Our room was very clean and very comfortable and it had everything we needed – coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and of course – television and high speed internet.    The garden and pool areas are very welcoming if you choose to just sit back, relax and listen to the surf close by....

Day 2 - Rincon, Puerto Rico

Another great day in Puerto Rico.  I am destined to live on a  Caribbean Island and that is that.  So much sand, surf and sun, my senses are in overload.  Life is meant to be lived like it's happy hour... No whales were spotted on the beach today, but I did see another first....a woman in a thong with butt cheek implants.  Yes, ass implants.  I couldn't believe  it - it was like honey dew melons had been implanted in her ass cheeks.  J actually called her bubble butt...fitting I suppose. Just when you thought you've see it all - you see more...more than you can ever imagine.

Day 1 - Rincon, Puertco Rico

It was a great first day.  The pictures will follow eventually...hopefully if J gets around to sharing them with me. We spent our first day at a beach called Domes here in Rincon.   Domes gets its name from the abandoned nuclear reactor dome that sits adjacent to the beach.  Who knew that getting a tan will most likely allow me to glow in the dark as well... Anyhow, Rincon is the surfing capital of the Caribbean, so needless to say the beach was a busy place for surfers and watchers alike.  It had a very bohemian, laid back, friendly feel to it.  It was nice and tranquil. We also had the opportunity to see 2 humpback whales surface not too far from shore.  We were able to watch them for over 30 minutes - swimming along, not a care in the world.  It was an AWESOME sight! Not so awesome are the drivers here in Puerto Rico.  To put it mildly - they are slightly insane.  I am not a timid driver by any means, but these people...

It’s that time again… What now? You may ask... I’ve planned yet another holiday. For those of you that have been following for sometime; you know that I LOVE to travel. For those that are new, let me tell you – I LOVE to travel. It's not something I take lightly. I need holidays. They are what I live for and most definitely the reason why I work at a sucky job. Now before you start thinking “boy, does she ever have a lot of vacation time” , let me explain - I don’t. I get 3 weeks vacation per year and I usually reserve 2 of these weeks for actual vacations – one in the Fall, one in the Spring. The remaining week is used up on things like annual visits to the doctor, dentist, optometrist or just because “I feel like being a slacker day”. Ummm, on second thought, I tend to call in sick on those days I feel like slacking it because let’s be honest, I don’t tend to plan ahead… Another misconception that I would like to clear up is that “boy, she must be super rich...
