I can’t believe we are already in the last week of July.   Eeeks!   Summer is passing me by.   How has that happened?   Where did it go and how can I get it back?   Seriously, I’m freaking out about this one.   The weather has been on a “cool” side and not in a “wow that’s awesome” kind of cool.   More like cold, put on socks kinda cold…brrr…   This summer has been a summer of “procedures”, with visits to Drs., Dentists and Specialists.    First, I had a filling, then a root canal, then another filling to fix the crown where the hole was made from the root canal.   Then there were miscellaneous Doctor’s appointments, blood tests or as I like to call them “tune-ups”.   Then, I had a biopsy on a spot that I’ve had above my left eyebrow for at least a year and that hasn’t seemed to heal and just last Friday, a follow-up appointment for the results.   Turns out, I have basal-cell carcinoma – a form of skin cance...

The KISS concert was FANTASTIC last night. It was just what I needed to vent some pent up energy – WHOOO HOOO!!! They took the stage at 9:00 and played until 11:30. Two and a half hours of non-stop Rock & Roll was a spectacle of awesomeness (if there is such a thing). It’s hard to believe that this band has been touring for 35 years and can still manage to keep a crowd entertained while prancing around in those platform boots. I would say the highlight of the evening would be the drum solo by Eric Singer. I didn’t think it was physically possible for someone’s arms to move at that rate of speed for such a constant period of time. Seriously, it lasted for at least 10 minutes! We had excellent seats and I’m thankful J had the foresight to bring ear plugs because without them, I would be hearing impaired today. I am happy to report that I scored the tickets I was hoping for. Whoo Hoo!! Funny thing, I actually managed to buy more than I needed. Yup - you see when I was trying to purchase them on line, the best I could get were the 2nd best tickets, so in desperation I purchased them and then I checked ticket availability again and this time, the best tickets were available, so I purchased them too. Thinking I would be such a fantastic mom and treat my son to his first rock concert, I asked my son if he would be interested in going and taking a friend. His response "Ummm, no I don't think so - those guys are old and I don't even know any of their music. It would just be awkward." Whaaat? So now I have an extra set of tickets to unload, which I'm sure won't be too big of a problem - I have friends that are old and would actually appreciate them, not unlike my unappreciative, uneducated, uncultured 17 year old. *sigh* I joke, he is a good kid, but his taste in mu...

It's that time of week again - the time where I express my want-of-the-week. This week, I want tickets to see these guys... Tickets go on sale on Saturday, so let's all hope I'm fast enough to snag myself some tickets. Now, I'm off to purchase some additional hair spray and find some platform boots, so I can rock the look...
